Informe

IN ENGLISH

Having read and debating the articles of the newspaper ofEuroscolos, we decided to direct our activity towards volunteering because at this Institute, in which there are about 1400 students, we knew that many would be interested in participating in activities related to volunteering. So this group has become an organism inside the Institute that now is going to carry out activities related to volunteerism and the Millennium development goals.

As our first activity, the members of the group have participated as volunteers at the Food Bank of Zaragoza, collaborating on a collection of food held in the Institute. We carried out a sports tournament, in which was required to bring that day a list of  to participate in the competitionf food because food delivery was required to participate. The tournament, as well as having the objective of collecting food, also sought to promote some of the Millennium development goals as equality between genders, cooperation and solidarity, among others.

We were going to make a market of NGO in the hall of the Institute to present the different NGOs, their activity and how to collaborate with them, but could not carry it out because of the tight schedule of these. So we decided to replace it with two activities: lectures of different NGOs, initiated by Atades on Friday, March 27 and the completion of round tables with different NGOs to raise awareness and propose different solutions to the objectives of the Millennium. In addition, will also create an advice of volunteering, in which we will offer help to those students who are interested in participating as a volunteer in any NGO or field of work, putting them in contact with them and assisting them in all the proceedings and doubts that have.

In conclusion, the contest has served to realize the reality that exists in other countries and deficits that have, which solved, to some extent, through the Millennium development goals. We have only just started our activity as the body of the Institute, so we will continue to work on volunteering and solidarity through various projects, the previously exposed as new ones, which we would have liked to have done for the contest but has not been possible due to the shortage of time and resources to carry it out successfully.
